The meticulously edited publication (made in five copies) contains of sixty thousand catalogue numbers of books that have never been borrowed from the library in Gdańsk. On particular pages, the catalogue numbers form patterns in which we recognise blurry pictures of the library’s interiors. Rows of books, rows of bookshelves, long alleys with shelves and coming floors with more such alleys… The ‘phantom’ library with its vast expanse of books is depicted by a precise pattern. The pattern is woven from goods which – although have been added to the catalogue – vanish in the abyss of library collections’ memory.
